Deed, SC, Darlington, FRANCIS BRIAN to STEPHEN WILLIAMS, 1801

State of South Carolina

KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I FRANCIS BRIAN of the district of Darlington
in the state of South Carolina, aforesaid, in consideration of the sum of $200 to
me in hand paid by STEPHEN WILLIAMS of the same district and state aforesaid have
granted, bargained, sold, and released and by these presents to grant, bargain, so,
and release unto the said STEPHEN WILLIAMS all that Plantation or attractive land
situate, lying and being in the district of Darlington and state aforesaid in the
fork of the Tyger Branch and Palmetto swamp, the waters of Black Creek, containing
by estimation 100 acres, be the same more or less.

    Bounded eastwardly and northwardly by the said Tyger Branch, westwardly
    by the lands belonging to Colonel JOHN SMITH and EDWARD ROGERS, and
    southwardly by the land's formerly belonging to THOMAS POLK now JAMES
    BOSTICK.

AND HATH such shape and form and marks as are represented in a plant to the
original grant annexed, granted to JOSEPH JOHNSON the 14th day of August A. D.
1772.

TOGETHER WITH ALL and singular the rights, members, hereditaments and a
appurtenances unto the said premises belonging or in anywise incident or
appertaining.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said
STEPHEN WILLIAMS, his heirs and assigns forever.

AND I DO HEREBY bind myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators to warrant and
forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said STEPHEN WILLIAMS,
his heirs and assigns, against myself and my heirs and against all and every person
or persons whosoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof.

WITNESS MY HAND AND SEAL this 18th day of November in the year of Our Lord 1801 and
in the 26th year of North American independence.

instrument of writing to STEPHEN WILLIAMS as his act indeed, and that I saw STEPHEN
GARDNER subscribe the same as a witness with myself.

I, ROBERT ELLISON, one of the justices of the quorum do hereby certify to whom it
may concern that SUSANNA BRIAN, the wife of the within named FRANCIS BRIAN, did
this day appear before me and upon being privately examined by me did acknowledge
that she does freely, voluntarily, and without any compulsion, dread, or fear of
any person or persons, whomsoever, renounce, release, and forever relinquish unto
thee within STEPHAN WILLIAMS, his heirs and assigns, all her interest and estate
and also all her right and claim of dour of, and, or two all her and singular the
premises within mentioned and released.

Given under my hand and seal this 28th day of November 1801.

Received 28th of November 1801 from STEPHAN WILLIAMS $200 being the within
mentioned consideration money in full, received by me.
