Deed, NC, Union, WILLIAM BRYANT to THOMAS WOODSON, 1802

The state of South Carolina

KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that we, WILLIAM BRYON and HANNAH BRYON, of Union
district and state aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of $300 to us in
hand paid by THOMAS WOODSON of the state and District aforesaid have granted,
bargained, sold, and released and by these presents to grant, bargain, sell, and
release unto the said THOMAS WOODSON all that Plantation or tract of land
containing 100 acres, be the same more or less, lying and being in the state and
District aforesaid and joining the lands now claimed by JESSE HOWARD on Sugar Creek
also GEORGE [HARLIN] HARLAN’s, JOHN CURTIS, THOMAS PALMER and WILLIAM PALMER, it
being part of a tract of land laid out for PHILLIP BRYON Sr., deceased, containing
200 Acres. The above described 100 acres being part thereof.

TOGETHER WITH ALL and singular the rights, members, hereditaments and appurtenances
to the same premises belonging or in anywise incident or appertaining.

TO HAVE TO HOLD all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said THOMAS
WOODSON, his heirs and assigns forever,

AND WE do hereby bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators to
warrant and forever defend all and singular the same premises unto the said THOMAS
WOODSON, his heirs and assigns, against ourselves, our heirs, and against every
other person or person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any
part thereof.

WITNESS OUR HANDS and seals this 30th day of December in the year of Our Lord 1802
and in the 27th year of American independence.

JAMES WOODSON personally appeared before me and made oath that he saw WILLIAM BRYON
sign, and acknowledge, the above deed for the purpose there in mentioned and that
also that SALLY EVANS and ROBERT WOODSON were subscribing Witnesses with himself.

I, ANDREW TORRANCE, one of the justices of the Quorum here by certify unto all to
whom it may concern that GILLIEL [HANNAH] BRYANT wife of the within named WILLIAM
BRYANT did this day appear before me and upon being privately and separately
examined by me did declare that she does freely, solemnly and without any
compulsion, dread or fear of any person whomsoever renounce, release, and forever
relinquish unto thee within named THOMAS WOODSON his heirs and assigns all her
interest and estate and also her right and claim of dower of, and, or two all and
singular the premises within mentioned and release given under my hand and seal
this 11th day of January Anno Domini 1804.
