This indenture made the first day of February in the year of our Lord 1803 between GUSTEVES BRIENT of Rutherford county, state of North Carolina of the one part and THOMAS BRANTON of the county of Lincoln and state of North Carolina, of the other part. Witness that the said GUSTEVES BRIENT for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars in hand paid and he by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell and by their presents doth give grant, convey and confirm unto the said THOMAS BRANTON, his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Lincoln on the waters of the little Buffaloe joining ROBERT WEERS and JAMES G BEATTY's land Beginning at a post oak Beatty's corner and run with Weer's line N 180 poles crossing the little creek a stake then E 180 poles the stake then S 180 poles to a stake on Beatty's line and thence with said line (W) to that beginning. Containing 200 arcres be there any more or less. With the appurtenances situate, lying and being as aforesaid with there and every of there rights members and appurtenances have and to hold unto the said THOMAS BRANTON, his heirs and assigns forever and the said GUSTEVES BRYENT doth promise, covenant and agree that the said GUSTEVES BRYENT, his heirs, executor and administrator, shall and will warrant and forever defend the above described promises to the said THOMAS BRANTON, his heirs and assigns forever. In witness wereof he, the said GUSTEVES BRYENT, hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day, month and year first above written.
